We're off to America to visit family & friends! My online/computer time will be very limited for some days now. So a semi-digital sabbatical of sorts, and I won't be tweeting much, etc. But if I can, I will share a "postcard" style post or two here while we're Stateside. June is shaping up to be a very exciting month, and I look forward to sharing about that, our travels and more!

Taste--herbs, green & tasty from the garden: fresh chives snipped to liven Sunday scrambled eggs, fresh dill in a lemon-olive oil dressing for a new potato salad, cilantro goes into a spicy curry... I want to plant more herbs this season
Scent--I'm addicted to incense & always burning something fragrant, and at the moment I'm loving the rich ranges of scents offered by Maroma, and using their Encens d-Auroville cone incense...right now their "Into the Night" sandalwood, rose & violet scent is wafting through the studio. Do take a peek at their beautiful site and see about their fragrances and good work
Sound--so many goodies I'm listening to lately! Keane's Strangeland just released, I love their beautiful, shimmering melodies and sweet-sad stories sung; also Richard Hawley's new Standing At the Sky's Edge, which has a raw, wild, hungry sound along with his "usual" melancholy, heartache--I'm really enjoying this, and just discovered Norwegian group Mount Washington's new recording, Mount Washington...some of their melodies remind me of old New Order--wonderful find
Touch--crisp, dry paper...my pen scratching across it, in my journals, to-do lists, etc. I use my laptop for so much, but I still think best with pen and paper
Sight--watching BBC's hilarious mockumentary/spoof Twenty Twelve, and lately seen A Dangerous Method
Intuition--everyday ephiphanies, experiencing the sacred in the "ordinary"
Delight--tulips in bloom in our garden, including the lush deep maroon-purple-black tulips "Queen of the Night," shown in my photo today.
Comfort--I lately cut my hair quite short...there's something oddly freeing about giving up one's hair and finding a new view on physical beauty
Making--apart for some painting, writing, photography, and a few new items at my shop, I'm taking a bit of break in makings, allowing some new ideas to surface
Doing--a new painting, well, three paintings--a trio of small-ish canvases--taking shape in the studio...more on this soon
Inspiration--last week I came across this video, Your Prayer Painting, and wanted to share it...the process of creativity carries so much
Dreaming--making a plan for summery June, and I'll be making a video post and share the plans with you
Challenge--visual re-design and content re-vamp of my PranaLight newsletter
Reading--my friend Elizabeth Wix's sensitive poetry collection, a rich tapestry of domestic and deep personal encounters in New Roof In October; Jamie Oliver's latest cookbook, Jamie's Great Britain is helping me mix things up in our kitchen; and the dazzling Self-Portrait in a Velvet Dress: The Fashion of Frida Kahlo...a wonder to see her wardrobe in pictures, which was just as vibrant and personal as her paintings
Gratitude--I am incredibly, deeply thankful for the many caring, supportive and encouraging comments that so many of you left for me on this post earlier this week. I greatly touched by your kindness and sharing...my heart runneth over!
Happiness--that next week I will in the USA visiting my family & friends over there--can't wait!
